Church Rev Lis Stenhouse, interim moderator for Scone and St Martins Parish Church will lead morning worship in St Martin church on Sunday this week at 9.30am. At the close of service Rev Stenhouse will address the congregati­on on ‘preparatio­ns for the closing of St Martins Church in June 2020’. It is hoped as many people as possible will take the opportunit­y to voice their concerns. Tea, coffee and biscuits served afterwards.

Church Last Sunday’s service was conducted by Rev Peggy Ewart–Roberts, assisted by Rev Bill Ewart. The lessons from One Kings chapter 19, verses 4-13 and John chapter six, verses 35 and 41-51 were delivered by Rev Tom Tait and the organist was Janet Coyle. The services are held every Sunday at 9.45am to which all are made welcome. Refreshmen­ts are served in the hall following the service.

Kinross

Netball Club New sessions begins today (Friday, August 17) at 7–8.30pm at Loch Leven community campus. Everyone is welcome. To find out more about the club check out their Facebook page. Rugby Club Youth section’s come and try day will take place tomorrow (Saturday, August 18) at 10.30am at the King George V playing fields, Kinross. Meet the coaches and make new friends. No experience needed; new players always welcome. Kobras Junior Hockey The annual club day will be hosted tomorrow (Saturday) at the King George V hockey pitches, with games and fun activities for juniors in the morning. There will also be free coaching for beginners or anyone who wants to give hockey a try. Training resumes on August 21 and will run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.30–7.30pm. Beginners are welcome (ages typically eight to 14 years-old). Vaulting group A taster session will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at Kinross Vaulting Group at Carnbo near Kinross from 2–4pm; costs £17. Kinross Primary School The new school fair will be held in Kinross Primary’s grounds tomorrow (Saturday) from 12–2.30pm; free entry, no pets allowed. Society Fossoway and District Horticultu­ral Society will host its 100th show tomorrow (Saturday) in the village hall, Crook of Devon. Doors open at 2pm followed by the presentati­on of trophies. Loch Leven NNR Osprey walks will be starting in Burleigh Sands car park from tomorrow (Saturday), and on August 22 and August 31. Ceilidh A celidh will be held in Milnathort town hall this Sunday, from 2–5pm with a break at 3pm for tea and biscuits. It costs £5 and music will be provided by Liam Hope. Church The service this Sunday is a joint communion service in Luncarty Church Centre at 10am, led by Rev Adrian Lough. Flower and Crafts Show Almond Valley Horticultu­ral Society’s annual flower and crafts show will be held on August 25, in Pitcairngr­een village hall. Articles for the competitio­n should be submitted between 6-10pm on the Friday, and 7.308.45am on the Saturday. Entries of fruit, vegetables, flowers, home produce and crafts welcomed. Judging commences at 9am on the day and the exhibition will be open to the public at 1pm. Refreshmen­ts and home baking will be served in the marquee. Stalls on the green will include produce, bric-a-brac, bee keepers and tombola. Gardens around the village will also be open that day. All are welcome to come along and share a great day out.

Arthritis Awareness in Atholl The AAA group resume meetings on September 3, in Moulin Hall at 2.30pm.
