Cheer and ‘choons’ are flowing at Atholl venue

-

Next month, one of Scotland’s finest storytellers, Andy Cannon, will be taking Perth audiences back a thousand years in his re-telling of Shakespeare’s classic Macbeth.

‘Is This a Dagger? The Story of Macbeth’ will be staged in Perth Theatre on Friday, September 14.

A tale of murder and deceit, Macbeth tells the gory, bloody and dark story of his pursuit of power.

‘Is This A Dagger? The Story of Macbeth’ distils the essence of the popular play into a one-man, onehour version, making it appealing for audiences both young and old.

Described as the perfect introduction to Shakespeare, the show will be set to original music with Andy communicating directly with the theatre’s audience. His own storytelling style will be interwoven with Shakespeare’s original language, meaning a challenge but still enjoyable for those attending.

Andy is no stranger to bringing some of the biggest characters in Scottish culture alive on the stage, having previously taken on Robert Burns, Robert Louis Stevenson and Anna Sewell in his storytelling productions.

Tickets £12.50 on 01738 621031. A great way to spend a Saturday in September is on tap, courtesy of a food and music venue in Blair Atholl.
