Pupils at a top Perthshire independent school have achieved “outstanding” results in their recent GCSEs.

Glenalmond College has announced they have seen success in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) and languages subjects in its exam results.

In some subjects the school saw a 100 per cent pass rate, with more than half of pupils achieving a 7 to 9 grade, and 25 per cent achieving the top grades in every subject they sat.

The school’s pass rate was up by 0.5 per cent with 100 per cent pass rates in French, German, English language, English literature, chemistry and computer science.

Elaine Logan, the school’s head warden, said: “Another year of excellent grades show that Glenalmond consistently delivers well above average outcomes.

“We have achieved these results through small classes with inspirational teaching, outstanding extra-curricular opportunities, and the very best in pastoral care.

“I congratulate all of our pupils, staff and parents, it really has been a team effort.

“The educational approach at Glenalmond is all about discovering and promoting the best in each child, finding their strengths and helping them to achieve their full potential.

“We look forward to welcoming the pupils back in September for Glenalmond’s popular sixth form and studying a wide range of Highers and A levels.”
