Police plea after suspicious layby incident

Police officers are appealing for informatio­n after a suspicious incident in a Highland Perthshire layby.

The incident is thought to have taken place on the northbound A9 near to Calvine and the House of Bruar in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, August 22.

Police believe an altercatio­n of some sort took place and are now trying to trace the driver of a HGV and the driver of a small car.

A spokespers­on for Police Scotland’s Tayside division said: “Police Scotland is appealing for informatio­n about a suspicious incident which is thought to have taken place at layby 56, sometime between 3am and 3.45am.

“We are trying to trace and identify the driver of a white Scania HGV with Irish number plates, along with the occupants of a small car which may have had blue lights.”

Officers are now urging anyone that may have any informatio­n to get in touch with them.

The spokespers­on continued: “Although it is unlikely anyone has directly witnessed what has happened, we would like to ask anyone who was driving in this area around this time who may have a dashcam or similar recording device to contact us.’’
