The final event in Perth Road Runners’ summer series took place at the Killin 10k this week.

Thirty-one green vests completed the course with Ronnie Glen finishing first for the club and 12th overall.

He was closely followed by Kev Rogers, while Lorraine McPherson ran well to cross the finish line as fourth female and third in her age category.

Then came Stewart Reid who completed the series year with his daughter Maisie.

Gillian Smith and Natalie King rounded off the top three for the ladies.

There were new personal best times for Douglas Robertson, Alan Watson in 57:41 and Rhona Watson in 1:02.32.

For the summer series itself, Lorraine McPherson was the winning female, closely followed by Natalie King and Amy Bryson.

For the men there was a tie for top spot with both Kev Rogers and Ronnie Glen finishing on the same total.

They were followed in second place by Gregor Wells with Stewart Reid and Maisie in third. Twenty-two road runners completed all of the races.

Sunday’s Perth 10k, which took place in dreich conditions, welcomed 19 enthusiast­ic green vests.

First home was Kev Riddell in a time of 35:49, a new personal best. He was followed by Duncan Ryan and Martin McEwen.

Gillian Edwards led the way for the ladies in 44:11, also securing a personal best, with Rhona Younger and Claire Douglas finishing strong in behind.

Elsewhere, three road runners made it to Aberdeen at the weekend for the Simplyheal­th 10k.

Mike Carroll finished in sixth place, Richard Ward secured a new personal best and Tessa Ward came fifth in her category.

A slightly reduced number of Perth parkrun participan­ts this week saw 26 green vests take part at the North Inch.

Mike McConnell led the way and, for the females, it was Gillian Edwards who kept up her recent strong form.
