Pitlochry shows are revealed
Pitlochry Festival Theatre has announced details of its new programme, revealing a diverse mix of musicals, touring dramas, comedies, family friendly shows and musical concerts.
With record-breaking audience figures, the musical spectacular‘Chicago’has been extended into the autumn. It will now have an additional eight performances after the Summer Season closes, extending the run until October 20. Chicago has become the theatre’s best-selling show in its 67 year history.
Citizens Theatre’s acclaimed production of the Shakespeare tragedy,‘The Macbeths’on October 23 has the audience to sit on the Pitlochry stage, as the tale of a disintegrating marriage unfurls‘in the round’.
Celtic rock band Skipinnish makes a welcome return for two nights on October 26 and 27.
Magical Mozart By Candlelight is on November 2.
The following evening on November 3, PFT holds an exclusive concert performance by one of Scotland’s finest songwriters, Deacon Blue’s Ricky Ross.
This Christmas, click your heels and say “There’s no place like Pitlochry!” PFT is doing the magical musical, The Wizard Of Oz from November 23 to December 23.
Exciting, special Oz-themed experiences for the whole family include circus taster workshops, Munchkinland tea parties, and a Saba DouglasHamilton is at PFT Secrets of Oz talk.
In the New Year, Winter Words Festival gets Scotland’s literary year into gear from February 14-17.
Moving into March, expect fun and larks with the Dad’s Army Radio Show, intrigue and mayhem from Owdyado Theatre’s Twisted Tales.
Music acts include an Abba tribute,‘Thank You For The Music’(March 9 ), Re-Take That, plus Sing-a-Long-a-Grease, Capercaillie’s Karen Matheson and on April 19 there is an evening with acclaimed elephant conservationist, Saba Douglas-Hamilton.
