Pensioner accused of filming neighbours

- Court reporter

A Perth pensioner will stand trial at the Sheriff Court on September 27, accused of apparently taking photographs or filming two of her former neighbours.

A further date of October 2 has been reserved in case the proceedings run over.

Sixty-seven-year-old Vicki Ward, previously of St Leonard’s Bank and now James Street, maintained her not guilty plea to four charges at her latest court hearing.

It is alleged that on various occasions between July 20 and August 22, 2017, at the communal grounds of St Leonard’s Bank, she engaged in a course of conduct which caused Amanda McGowan fear or alarm. She is said to have repeatedly attended there, repeatedly followed the other woman and repeatedly looked through the windows of her flat while she was inside.

The charge further alleges that she repeatedly appeared to take photographs or film Ms McGowan whilst she was both in her flat and outside.

Ward is also accused of repeatedly appearing to take pictures – or film – of a second resident at the flats, while he was at his window and within his home, on various occasions between July 20 and 28 last year.

She is also said to have repeatedly followed Douglas Pearson between the same dates.

A third charge alleges that on July 28, again at the St Leonard’s Bank communal grounds, she wilfully or recklessly hit the door of a car with the door of her vehicle, damaging it.

The final charge claims that Ward flouted the terms of an August 24, 2017, bail order banning her from the St Leonard’s Bank property.

It is alleged that she entered the grounds five days later – on August 29.
