Perth team on the road to Stirling

Perth Road Runners were out in force at the Stirling 10km Road Race.

Forty-three members from the Fair City were at the latest event in the club’s championsh­ip series, which started at Forthbank Stadium.

Myles Bax was first home in a time of 33:10 and, in the process, gained himself a new personal best. He was followed by Stuart Robertson and Kevin Riddell.

For the women, it was Lisa Aikman who returned first in a time of 44:45, also a new personal best time, while Arlene McWalter and Gillian McGuire followed not long after.

There were further personal bests on the day for Katrina Leese, Craig Tomlinson and Paul Hammersley.

Also running a 10km race, but this time in Inverclyde, was Crawford Watson who completed the Kilmacolm 10km.

Completing the run of 10km races Stewart and Brian Galletly who were was Stewart Reid, Sonjia Crow and fifth and sixth VET50. Natalie King who all ran the inaugural Caroline Duffin was first for the Perth Auchterard­er 10km. women in 2:02.33 with Yvonne Bryson

Also in Auchterard­er was the and Caroline Malloy also completing the course.

Elsewhere, over on Tiree, Andy Wilson was the sole representa­tive of the club to take on the Tiree Ultra this year.

He completed the test of endurance in a time of seven hours and 56 minutes.

At the latest round of parkrun, three personal bests were chalked up by green vests.

Rachel Roberts secured the achievemen­t with a time of 24:27 and Paul Grace ran 19:57, both in Perth. Karen Christine clocked 27:45 at Camperdown in Dundee.

Also enjoying a spot of parkrun tourism was Crawford Watson at Linwood, Peter Ritchie at Alness, Kirsty Johnston at Bryanston South Africa, Louise Waywell at Haigh Woodland and Lorraine Macpherson, who was first woman home at parkrun de Montsouris in France in 20:58.

There was also cause for celebratio­n for Gillian Edwards and Kevin Riddell as they both completed their 100th parkrun in Perth.
