Getting set for Saints’ October holiday footie

Our Goalgetter­s Holiday programme runs throughout the October Holidays and provides football fun for boys and girls aged five to 16-years-old at McDiarmid Park and county venues. No booking is required, simply turn up, pay and play (£5 per session).

McDiarmid Park 1– 2.30pm on the following days: Tuesday, October 9 to Friday, October 12 and Tuesday, October 16 to Friday, October 19. Loch Leven Campus, Kinross 10.30am–12pm on the following days: Tuesday, October 9 and Wednesday, October 10. Mini Kidz (McDiarmid Park) – sessions for three to five-year-olds from 1-2pm (£4 per session): Thursday, October 11 and Friday, October 12 then Thursday, October 18 and Friday, October 19. Goalkeeper­s (McDiarmid Park) – for budding keepers aged five to 16-yearold, 1-2.30pm: Thursday, October 11 and Friday, October 12 then Thursday, October 18 and Friday, October 19.

AULD PERTH BAIRNS

Saints in the Community would like to thank the Auld Perth Bairns for choosing us as one of the chosen charities at their recent reunion event. A total of £1582.80 was raised on the night with £791.40 donated to the community trust. The funds will be put towards our Football Memories reminiscen­ce project.

COACH EDUCATION COURSES

Saints in the Community provide Scottish FA coach education courses for adults aged 16 years and above. The following courses are coming up at Perth College, taking place between 10am and 4pm each day. Level 1.1 Early Touches - Sunday, November 4. Cost is £45. Level 1.2 Coaching Young Footballer­s - Saturday, November 17 and Sunday, November 18. Costs is £60. Full details on the Scottish FA website and our own.

SAINTS KIDZ SATURDAY

Our Saints Kidz Soccer Saturday programme, open to every boy and girl aged three years old up to S2, continues throughout the school term and school holidays. Times are: Mini Kidz (three to five year olds) from 9.30–10.30am, Champion Kidz (P1 to P3) from 9.30– 10.30am, Premier Kidz (P4 to S2) from 10.30- 11.30am. Head over to our website for further details. Charge for sessions is £4, payable upon arrival.

WALKING FOOTBALL

Play the game you used to love. With no running and minimal physical contact, Walking Football is a great way to increase your physical activity, have fun and socialise at the same time. Open to both men and women over 50, sessions take place every Thursday at 7.30pm on the synthetic pitch at McDiarmid Park there is no requiremen­t to pre-book, simply turn up and pay £4 upon arrival.

SAINTS TEASER

Last week: Murray Davidson earned his only Scotland cap against Luxembourg and ex-Saints manager Billy Stark was in temporary charge of the team. This week: Sandy Clark’s first game in charge of Saints was a 4-0 win and his last game in charge was a 4-0 defeat against the same club. Which one?
