A man died after a fatal car crash on a dangerous Perthshire Road.

The man was killed following the single vehicle crash at Machany Bridge, on the Auchterarder to Muthill road on Tuesday, September 18.

The road between Drumness and Tullibardine was shut off, with diversions put in place following the accident, with the man pronounced dead later that evening.

Police officers have yet to identify the man.

Investigating officers are now urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland’s Tayside division said: “Police Scotland are currently dealing with a single fatal road traffic collision, on the Auchterarder to Muthill Road at Machany Bridge, Perthshire.

“The accident occurred about 3.45pm on Tuesday, September 18 and police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Police Scotland on 101, incident number 2220.”

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were also called to help at the scene.

A spokesperson said:“We got the call at 3.46pm and two appliances, both from Auchterarder, attended.

“The stop message came at 4.51pm.

“The person was released before the arrival of the fire service.”

The road remained closed for most of Wednesday as well, with police officers continuing their investigations.
