Perthshire-born funnyman Fred MacAulay takes mainstage at Pitlochry Festival Theatre this coming Sunday, September 23 at 8pm.

Fred, with 30 years of laughter behind him has had regular and memorable appearances on TV and radio comedy shows.

Raising a laugh on the wireless, the wry Scot’s humour’s been heard when he has appeared as a guest on comedy quiz programmes They Think It’s All Over, I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue and Unbelievable Truth, and hosted BBC Radio 4 panel game, I Guess That’s Why They Call It The News.

His 2017 stand-up shows were legendary and Fred’s wry observations about family, society and politics have led him to his high-profile success on television and radio, as well as on the live circuit and regular performances at the Edinburgh Fringe and at comedy festivals worldwide.

Fred is celebrating his stand-up career to-date, in his 30 Years On Tour of Scotland, with one night at Pitlochry.

Join Fred for a riotous Sunday evening of fun and laughter to wind up the weekend.

Collections officer, Laura Dowie explained: “This fun day was inspired by the Dress to Impress exhibition, which is being run in partnership with National Museums Scotland as part of their national ‘Reveal’ project funded by Heritage Lottery Fund.

“We are the first venue to host one of the ‘Reveal’ exhibitions. It tied in really well with our collections review and allowed us to display material which hasn’t been on display before, alongside amazing loans for the National Museum of Scotland.

“The countries represented in the exhibition are Korea, China and Japan. There was an East Asian inspired robe created by local schools and community groups, which is on display in the gallery at the moment, but will be going on a local tour at the end of the exhibition.” Fred stands up at PFT Project officer Laura Dowie
