Talks on future of four schools

-

The future of four Perthshire primary schools are now being considered by education bosses.

As part of Perth and Kinross Council’s ‘school estate transformation programme’, options for what to do with Cleish, Ruthvenfield, Grandtully and Logierait primary schools are currently being looked at.

It is hoped this will take place from now until May next year.

A spokesperson for the local authority said:“Cleish Primary School and Ruthvenfield Primary School are included in phase two of the programme, due to the condition rating of the school.

“Therefore a feasibility study will be undertaken to establish what work could be carried out to improve the condition rating.

“Following the feasibility study, which is anticipated to conclude in December 2018 (timescale subject to change), further information will be available.”

When discussing Grandtully and Logierait primaries, the spokesperson said:“Meetings have taken place with headteachers from each of the schools.

“Discussions are taking place with representatives from each school’s parent council and community council.

“Following these meetings informal community drop-in sessions will be held where the wider community will have the opportunity to ask questions and give feedback about the options being considered for each school.

“The wider community can also suggest options that they may wish the council to consider.

“Further information and details regarding the informal community drop-in sessions will be updated on [the council’s website] when it is available.”
