Health centre survey call

-

Councillor Henry Anderson is urging people within his ward to fill in a survey supporting the call to have a new medical centre in the Lower Earn.

He highlights that the NHS and partners have produced a survey to find what services the community wish to have in the new medical centre once constructed.

“Originally the plan was to conduct a place standard survey that would have scoped out a full and comprehensive survey of all the needs of the community. A survey that planners and other organisations as well as NHS could have tapped into to find out what requirements the Lower Earn needs on a firm evidence base,”he explained.

“But after two months and training volunteers to undertake this survey, a decision was made by NHS and its partners to abandon the place standard survey and replace with a very basic six-question sheet.”

Councillor Anderson commented that he along with members of the community council have great concerns that this survey may not have enough detail to convince the decision makers in NHS Tayside. Nonetheless, he is hopeful that the community will fill in the survey in such large number that NHS Tayside cannot ignore the community’s wishes.

The survey can be done online via survey monkey, email communityengagement@pkavs.org.uk to complete it. A hard copy is available in the shops, hairdressers, pubs, from local councillors, or at the Better Place To Live Fair in Bridge of Earn Institute being held on October 20. The questionnaire must be completed by October 29.
