Police officers are appealing to members of the public after masked raiders broke in to two outdoor activity centres.

Both incidents happened over night from Friday, September 28 to Saturday, September 29 and the location of the two centres are relatively close to one another, leaving investigating police officers to believe the two are linked.

The first was the Nae Limits outdoor activity centre in Ballinluig and the second was an off-road driving centre in Butterstone.

Two men are now being sought by police, after being caught on CCTV at one of the locations.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland’s Tayside division said: “Police Scotland is appealing for information about two break-ins to outdoor activity centres in north Perthshire, which both happened overnight from Friday, September 28 to Saturday, September 29.

“The locations of these centres are relatively close to each other, and we believe that these incidents are linked.

“Firstly, an outdoor activity centre in Ballinluig was broken into. This centre has been targeted before, and while a degree of damage was caused, nothing was stolen on this occasion.

“Secondly, an off-road driving centre in Butterstone near Dunkeld was broken into. Two safes, a quantity of cash, sets of car keys and various other items including a chainsaw were stolen.

“Two men were seen on CCTV at one of these locations, and officers would like to trace them in connection with these crimes.

“The first man is described as white, stocky build, wearing a black balaclava or ski mask with a rectangular eye-hole, a green/grey hooded fleece with a half-length zip and a zip on the left sleeve which is darker on the shoulders and arms, gloves, dark tracksuit bottoms and dark shoes or trainers.

“The second is also white but slightly taller and slim build, wearing a black balaclava or ski mask with individual eye and mouth holes, a navy blue thigh-length waterproof jacket over a grey hoodie, gloves, black tracksuit bottoms and black shoes or trainers.

“If you have any information which would assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any police officer.

“Also, information can be given anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is CR/23750/18.”
