GrowBiz offers free marketing session

- Clare Damodaran

GrowBiz is hosting three workshops across Perthshire this month to help clients develop an effective marketing strategy for their business.

The free learning sessions, which will take place in Highland Perthshire, Strathearn, and Coupar Angus in east Perthshire, will help rural businesses think strategically and be focused and targeted in their marketing activity.

The sessions are being facilitated by Kirsty Scott from The Rural Marketing Agency. Kirsty has 25 years’experience of working in the tourism and hospitality sector.

She said:“In these sessions we will focus on how the creation of a simple marketing calendar, with targeted campaigns, can turn sporadic promotion into a comprehensive marketing strategy.

“We will identify the different ways enterprises can talk to customers and how to concentrate on the ones that will create most sales.

“Participants will learn how to think strategically and to be focused and targeted in planning marketing campaigns. The training will be suitable for any business that does not yet have an effective marketing strategy in place.”

GrowBiz CEO Jackie Brierton added: “In rural areas, enterprises are often sole traders or microbusinesses, and strategic marketing can often get lost amongst the many other competing roles and responsibilities an individual has.

“Our learning sessions, which are all free, provide an informal and friendly opportunity for people to further develop their skill sets and help their businesses grow, benefitting from the expertise of our team of enterprise facilitators, and this latest addition to the GrowBiz calender is no exception.”

‘Developing an effective marketing strategy’takes place in Comrie Community Centre in Strathearn on Wednesday, October 10, and in the Coupar Angus Cycling Hub on Tuesday, October 16.

All the events take place from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
