SWI President Wilma Brown welcomed members and owner Jill Flye from Planet Soap, East High Street, Crieff to the September meeting. On one table she had a lovely display of soaps, while the other looked like a scene from a horror movie. Jill wore a gas mask and waved a stun gun, all part of soap making. The mask was to protect her from the fumes as she mixed lye and olive oil and the gun was her thermometer. She then beat in honey and oatmeal and poured the mixture into a mould to produce the soap. Competitions were raspberry jam won by Heather Walker. Audrey McColl was second, and June McGrath third. Flower of the month was won by Anne Hubbard. Audrey McColl came second, and June McGrath third.
