A9closure forrepairs

- Rachel Clark

Motorists are set for traffic disruption as two days of roadworks take place on the A9.

A section of the northbound A9 just after the Keir roundabout near Dunblane will have essential maintenance works on Tuesday, October 30 and Wednesday, October 31.

The overnight works will see teams creating a smoother road surface by patching repairs.

The works will take place between 7.30pm and 6.30am, but will see a full overnight closure of the northbound carriageway on the Tuesday night.

A single lane will be in operation on the Wednesday night.

During the closure, a diversion will be in place via the B8033 Stirling Road and B8033 Perth Road to the Queen Victoria slip for the A9.

Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s north-east unit representative, said: “These essential works will repair a number of potholes and other surfacing issues to help improve the general condition and safety of this section of the A9 for motorists.

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible.

“We have scheduled the works to happen overnight to help minimise delays, however we encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
