Message to his ex broke court ban

-

Less than a week after being banned from contacting his former girlfriend a 21-yearold Perth man sent her a Facebook message declaring his love for her.

Depute fiscal Tina Dickie told Perth Sheriff Court that the girl was “extremely alarmed” when she received the message on her mobile shortly before midnight.

She recognised it had come from Jordan Walker and contacted the police.

He was later traced by police and told them: “I know I shouldn’t have done it.”

Walker, of Nimmo Avenue, admitted breaking a September 11 bail order by sending a social media message to his ex on September 17.

The message said: “I love you so much...you mean the world to me.

“I’ll change for you - I’ll settle down and hopefully one day marry you, if you wanted to.

“You’re my whole world. Please tell me if still love me,” he pleaded.

If she did not, Walker said, she could “get him done” for messaging her.

Solicitor Linda Clark pointed out that the message was not in the least threatening, although it had breached one of his bail conditions.

“I interviewed him when he was detained and he wasn’t in a good place,” the lawyer said.

“He feels a bit vulnerable and there’s a history of him suffering from depression.”

Walker will be sentenced on December 4 when he faces trial on another charge.
