Trust thanked for vital arts support
Wall dedication and plaque unveiled at two sites
A new wall dedication and plaque has been unveiled.
The Gannochy Trust has been honoured with a wall dedication in Perth Theatre and a commemorative plaque at Perth Concert Hall.
Horsecross Arts, the creative organisation behind Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre, unveiled the two features this week.
The Gannochy Trust has been a long-standing contributor to the performing arts in Perthshire and was a major funder of the recent restoration and redevelopment of Perth Theatre.
They were also key funders in the work to construct Perth Concert Hall.
The trust has worked over the years to continually promote culture in the community as well by supporting Horsecross Arts’ creative learning programme.
Mike Griffiths, Horsecross Arts interim chief executive, invited members of the trust to a reception to thank them for their support and to officially unveil the dedication at Perth Theatre.
Speaking at the unveiling, he said: “We are immensely grateful to The Gannochy Trust for all that they have done to support the arts in Perthshire.
“There is no doubt that without their generous contributions and commitment we would not be standing in the beautifully restored and redeveloped Perth Theatre as we are today. “And it’s not just capital projects. “The Gannochy Trust continue to support our exciting creative learning programmes both here, in our purpose-built space, and across the country.
“On behalf of everyone who has seen a show, appreciated an artwork, attended a conference, joined in an activity or enjoyed a coffee in one of these stunning venues, I would like to extend our warmest thanks.”
Dr James Kynaston, chairman of The Gannochy Trust, added: “The Gannochy Trust has been very pleased to be part of the enhancement of facilities for the arts within Perth and Kinross.
“The trust is supportive of the wide variety of artistic performances
