TV and film faces star in magical show

The Wizard of Oz cast gather ahead of the show Pitlochry Festival Theatre has revealed the cast for its festive musical, The Wizard Of Oz.

The new show opens with an evening performanc­e on Friday, November 23, promising eye-popping musical theatre until Christmas Eve.

The 14-strong cast herald from film, TV and stage, and hail from far and wide.

The Wizard of Oz is played by a familiar voice from BBC Radio 4, Crawford Logan.

Rachel Flynn picks up the main role of Dorothy, having sung in musical theatre production­s such as Cinderella and Fame.

The rest of her Yellow Brick Road gang are Daniel Bailey who plays The Scarecrow, Will Knights who plays The Tin Man and Marc Akinfolari­n who is The Cowardly Lion. Their impressive, collective West End credits include The Lion King, Wicked, Mamma Mia! Motown: The Musical, and Spamalot!

The Wicked Witch of The West, Camille Marmié, is from Iceland and Sarah Galbraith plays the role of Glinda, having performed everywhere from Broadway to Las Vegas via Japan and London’s West End.

Meanwhile actor Wade Lewin is fresh from shooting Aladdin for Walt Disney Pictures and the big Elton John film, Rocketman.

The show also features aerial and acrobatic performers Miranda Menzies and Beverley Grant.
