Road works hit drivers and buses

- Robbie Chalmers

A series of roadworks is to start next week as part of ongoing work to improve public areas in Alyth.

The resurfacing works will effect access to the road and bus service routes from Tuesday, November 13 and will take place on three roads.

On Airlie Street, from the Traditional Fish Bar to Bamff Road from November 13-16.

On Market Square Road, from Airlie Street to Commercial Street from November 13-16

And finally on Bamff Road, from Airlie Street to Chapel Street from November 13-23.

To allow the work to be carried out safely a full road closure will be required.

Bus services will not be able to use the temporary routes during the closure of Airlie Street to Bamff Road from November 13-16.

To accommodate the bus service during the closure, Victoria Street will be closed for approximately 30 metres from the junction with Airlie Street to allow for buses to turn into Victoria Street and return back down Airlie Street.

The temporary bus stop will be located outside the Alyth Parish Church Hall.

The bus service will be reinstated on Market Square once the road works on B952 Market Square/Airlie Street are finished.

Perth and Kinross Council would like to apologise in advance for any disruption and thank you for your patience and co-operation.
