Aberdalgie
Church Remembrance service on Sunday will meet at Aberdalgie war memorial at 9.30am sharp. This will be followed with a short service in Aberdalgie church. For those who wish to go to Forteviot, there will be a laying of wreaths at Forteviot church following this service, which will be led by Rev James W Aitchison.
Aberuthven
Church The service of remembrance will be held at the war memorial at 1pm with pipers, followed by a service in the church at 1.40pm. Everyone is invited. Tea and coffee will be served afterwards in the village hall.
Almondbank
St Serf’s Church Last Sunday’s service was conducted by The Rev Michael Archibald and his sermon was based on ‘The Communion of Saints’. Irene Hutchison read the lessons, and there was a guest organist. The flowers were kindly gifted by Flora Wylie. A congregational board meeting is on November 15 at 7pm and the annual Christmas fair is on November 24, from 10am-noon. There will be the usual stalls and the church are looking for donations. Teas will be served in the hall. Remembrance service on Sunday will begin at 9.30am and will be conducted by Rev Archibald.
Alyth
Church Last Sunday’s morning worship was conducted by Derek Colley. On Sunday, a service to commemorate the centenary of the Armistice is at 10.45am. A short service of remembrance will take place at the war memorial immediately afterwards. Sunday school meets in the church at 11am. A creche for under threes is available during Sunday morning services. The prayer group meets on Thursdays in Burnside Court lounge at 10.30am. All events are open to all. Family history Alyth family history project is open on Sundays from 2-4pm in Alyth Parish Church. The project includes photographs of people, events, schools, businesses, weddings, children, and views, etc. Admission is free. Bankfoot
Church Remembrance on Sunday will meet at the war memorial at 10.45am. This will be followed by a service in the church at 11.15am conducted by the Rev Adrian Lough. Craft fayre is on Saturday at Bankfoot church centre. It will include over 50 stalls selling a wide variety of quality items, cake and candy stalls and prize raffle craft items. There will also be a chance to win a packed Christmas hamper. Music provided by Strings and Things from 11am-1pm, snacks and light lunches and free parking. Doors open at 11am and the event finishes at 2pm. Come along and enjoy festive fun. Christmas celebration is in Bankfoot Church Centre on December 2 at 7pm. There will be carols, Christmas music and seasonal readings. Retiring collection will be taken for Christian Aid.

Strathearn Distillery is getting the chance to showcase their signature Scottish gin as part of Lidl’s collection for the second Scottish Gin Festival, just in time for the festive season.
The Perthshire gin is back by popular demand, and is one of eight artisan gin producers throughout the country that are benefiting from a combined business deal worth £500,000.
Strathearn Distillery was founded in 2013 by Tony Reeman-Clark, and currently distils gin, rum and Scotch whisky.
Jamie Burke, co-owner and director at Strathearn Distillery, said:“We are delighted to be part of the Lidl Scottish Gin Festival, which gives us the opportunity to show-case our beautifully crafted Scottish Dry Gin to an appreciating audience.”

Dunbarney and Forgandenny Church To mark the centenary of the Armistice on Sunday Ross Mackinnon will play the bagpipes at 6am at Dunbarney war memorial and at 6.30am at Forgandenny war memorial. Charlie Johnston, a trumpeter from Perth High School, will play ‘The Last Post’ at Dunbarney war memorial at 6.55pm. The bells will be rung at Dunbarney and Forgandenny churches at 7.05pm. Dunbarney church will then be open from 7pm with tea available in the hall afterwards. Remembrance services will be in both churches on Sunday - 9.30am at Dunbarney and 11am in Forgandenny. The uniformed organisations will attend the Dunbarney service. A wreath laying ceremony will take place at both war memorials. All welcome to attend these services. Church Morning worship last Sunday was led by the Rev Douglas Main, with Lynne Mitchell as organist. Lynne Mitchell read from Gospel of Matthew chapter six, verses 1-6 and 16-18 and from John chapter eight, verses 31-32. Office bearers on duty were Sandy Duthie, David Martin and Iain Stevenson. Sunday Club was led by Susan Christie and Joy Gowrie. Flowers were provided by Marie Milne and tea/coffee was served by Margaret and Jim Mackay. There will be a retiring collection for Poppy Scotland this week. Following morning worship on Sunday there will be an act of remembrance at the war memorial on The Green. Communion will be celebrated at morning worship on November 18. A retiring collection will be taken for Erskine Hospital this week. All welcome. A total of 32 shoeboxes were filled and delivered to the Blythswood shop in Blairgowrie. Organisers thank all who contributed. Callum Ross enlightened guild members on the work of CrossReach in solving the problem of loneliness and isolation in Scotland. Devotions were led by Margaret Linley with praise accompanied by Sheena McNaughton. Hostess was Margaret Mackay. Vote of thanks was given by Margaret Linley. The next meeting is at 2pm on December 13 in the church halls, Woodside. Susie Thomson will give a presentation on Japan. All welcome. There is no charge for tea, coffee or home baking. Busy Bees The toddlers’ group runs on Tuesdays from 10-11.30am. Church The morning service last Sunday in Clunie church was shared by the minister and her husband. Paul Latham read the lessons with Margaret Davidson organist. Part of the display of poppies made by members was draped from the pulpit. The complete work will be in place in Caputh church this Sunday. The guild’s open meeting is on November 14 at 7pm in the church when the Lyric Choir will entertain. Tea will be served and all are welcome. Remembrance A service of remembrance and wreath laying ceremony will take place at Caputh war memorial at 10.55am followed by morning worship in the church. A retiring offering will be taken for the Earl Haig Fund. A further service will be held at the Clunie war memorial at 12.45pm, followed by hot soup and refreshments in the hall. All are welcome to attend these special services. Lunch Club The monthly lunch for the parish will be available in Caputh session room on November 13 at 12.30pm. Contact a member of the team if unable to attend. Post Office The van will be available on Thursdays in Spittalfield from 10.45-11.45am. It will be parked beside the village hall as usual.

Knitters The Knit and Natter group meets in Clunie Hall on the third Wednesday of every month from 2-4pm. Knit, sew, crochet, or chat. Refreshments provided. Remembrance A service of remembrance and wreath laying ceremony will take place at Caputh war memorial at 10.55am on Sunday, before entering the church for an extended service. A further service will be held at Clunie war memorial at 12.45pm followed by hot soup and refreshments in the hall. All are welcome to attend these special services.

AGM Kinrossie hall management committee will hold its annual general meeting on November 26 at 7.30pm in Kinrossie hall. Refreshments will be available. Church Last Sunday’s service at the Abbey Church was conducted by Rev Andy Graham, who extended a warm welcome to all. The service opened with the hymn ‘Stand up and bless the Lord’. In his all age talk, Mr Graham reminded those gathered that they were all creatures of habit in some form. Bible readings from Ellen McGibbon were from Hebrews chapter nine, verses 11-15, and Mark chapter 12, verses 28-34. Music by organist Austin Wilkie included I Giorni and Primavera by Ludovico Einavoi and Recessional Voluntary No 2 in D Major by T Pattison. All are welcome to join the prayer group at 2pm on Wednesdays at the Abbey. The Bible study group will not meet this week. On Sunday, the service at the Abbey is at 10.45am and marks the centenary of the World War I Armistice. The retiring offering will taken for Poppyscotland. The Abbey Church are holding a Scottish quiz night on St Andrews Day at 7pm. Entry for teams of four cost £5. Heritage Association Coupar Angus and District heritage association’s meeting tonight will be in St Anne’s church hall at 7.30pm. The speaker will be Sandra Thompson, who will deliver a presentation on the Dundee jute mills. All welcome.

Church Morning worship on Remembrance Sunday at 9.30am, will be led by Rev Douglas Main in St Martins church, to which all are welcome. At the close of the service the minister, wreath bearers and congregation will make their way to the war memorial for the laying of the wreaths.

Church There will be a joint remembrance service in Errol church on Sunday at 10.45am. A retiring offering will be taken in aid of Erskine Home. Service on Sundays is at 9.30am and is led by Rev John Macgregor. Community cafe will be in Kilspindie hall on November 15 from 2-3.30pm. All are welcome to enjoy tea and cake.

Church Last Sunday’s service was conducted by Rev Peggy EwartRoberts. The First Thought and Prayer was given by Rev Bill Ewart. Mike Service read from Deuteronomy chapter six, verses 1-9 and Mark chapter 12, verses 28-34. Janet Coyle was the organist. On Remembrance Sunday, there will be an act of remembrance at the war memorial at the Lichgate after the service. The joint lunch club meets in Caputh church session room on November 13 at 12.30pm.
