Smash-hit kids

-

The 14 and under Gleneagles team and their Elgin opponents The 2018 junior team tennis season has drawn to a close - and young players from Gleneagles proved to be a smash hit.

Talented kids from the Adam Brown Tennis Academy successfully defended the titles they won last year.

Both the 12 and under and the 14 and under teams competed in the North of Scotland leagues, travelling as far north as Elgin.

Trips to Stonehaven, Inverness and Aberdeen - as well as local matches - were also on the schedule.

But the players, who train at the Gleneagles Arena, had an ace time en route to an undefeated season.

The 14 and under team also gave themselves the challenge of competing in the 16 and under league, finishing a creditable third.

Head coach Adam Brown said:

The winning 12 and under team from Gleneagles “I’m delighted the teams have done so well.

“We have a good squad of players and everyone has played their part in the overall victories.

“The players really enjoy the team competitions and they are an important part of their development. It’s a great reward for their hard work.

“There’s also a big thanks due to the parents who are willing to take the teams to the away matches.”
