Patrols are stepped up after woman is left shaken
A number of witnesses have come forward after a man indecently exposed himself to a woman in Perth.
The suspect was seen acting suspiciously before flashing the victim on Thursday, November 22 on a path running between Hay Street and the North Inch.
The woman was left shaken by the incident, which happened at around 6pm.
Police patrols have been stepped up in the park since Thursday.
A spokesperson for Tayside Division said: “Police Scotland can confirm that following an appeal, we have been contacted by potential witnesses who have provided information useful to the investigation. “Enquiries are continuing at this time.” The appeal for information went out after Police Scotland were unable to attend the incident in time to catch the man in question.
He was last seen leaving the Inch and heading towards Hay Street.
Chief Inspector Ian Scott, area commander for Perth and Kinross, said: “We are pursuing several lines of enquiry in relation to this matter but at this time the suspect remains outstanding.

“There have not been any further incidents reported and this is an uncommon crime type for Perth and Kinross.
“Additional patrols have been taking place in the area and we would encourage anybody with information to come forward and contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers.”
At the time, a spokesperson for Police Scotland’s Tayside division had said: “Police Scotland is appealing for information about an incident which happened about 6pm on Thursday, November 22 on a path running between Hay Street and the North Inch, Perth.
“A man was seen to be acting suspiciously before exposing himself to a woman walking along the path.
“He didn’t say anything, and was last seen heading towards Hay Street.
“The woman was unhurt but left shaken by the incident.
“Unfortunately, by the time the incident was reported and officers were able to attend and search the area, he had made off and has not been traced.”
The spokesperson continued: “Officers would like to trace a man described as in his 40s, wearing a black beanie hat, short dark jacket and jeans, and thin-framed glasses.
“As the North Inch is usually busy, and he had been in this area which is close to the Bell’s Sports Centre, it is hoped that others may have seen him in the area and can help us determine his movements before and after the incident.
“If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any police officer. Information can also be given anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 reference: CR/28616/18.”
