Four reporters have been appointed to examine Perth and Kinross Council’s new local development plan.

Scottish ministers have appointed the four reporters to carry out the study on LDP2, who will look at progress being made to update the plan, which sets out what kinds of development should take place and where.

The lead reporter will be Katrina Rice, who along with Martin Seddon, Philip Barton and Jo-Anne Garrick will examine the proposed plan.

The administration of the examination will be carried out by the Scottish Government’s planning and environmental appeals division.

A spokesperson for Perth and Kinross Council said: “This update provides information on our progress to update our local development plan - the key document that sets out which types of developments should take place where, and which areas should be protected from development.

“It also contains policies that inform the planning authority’s decisions on planning applications.

“The process for preparing the local development plan is near to the end of the council has consulted on the main issues affecting the local development plan area, updated our plan’s policies, and reviewed the plan’s future development sites.

“Our proposed local development plan has been submitted to Scottish ministers for examination.”

The spokesperson added: “We have provided the reporters with a summary of the issues that we consider should be assessed at the examination, and we have also provided a copy of the representations.

“Information about the examination and summary of the issues being addressed by the reporters may be found at the division of planning and environmental appeals’website.”
