Blair Castle long service recognised
Blair Castle and Gardens hosted a ceremony earlier this month to celebrate staff long service on Atholl Estates, which together totalled 611 years across 30 individuals.
The event was hosted in the castle ballroom and among those celebrating was Alasdair Cameron, the longest serving member of staff with over 44 years on the estate since joining in July 1974.
Now a lead forester, Alasdair said it is a job he would still prefer to do over any other, even after all this time.
The event recognised only one retiree, Jane Anderson, who was in charge of the estate’s archive.
A spokesperson for Blair Castle and Gardens has said she is the “keeper of knowledge”within the estate and“her presence will be sorely missed.”
