-

David Murray (Lurgan Farm, Camserney), Jeannie Grant (greenspace ranger), Andrew Barrie (trust’s strategic routes officer) and Martin Hill (Upper Tay Paths Group) A number of popular walking routes in Highland Perthshire are set to benefit from over £14,500 of upgrades.

The paths around Aberfeldy are set to be improved by Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust and the Upper Tay Paths Group, thanks to a funding grant of £14,640 from SSE’s Griffin and Calliacher Community Fund.

The works include repairs to Camserney pond, which is currently leaking and flooding the Dull to Camserney path and associated works.

The flood bank at Carse Farm will also be repaired and the path and fence there is to be replaced, as they have become damaged from flooding.

And the old railway line path between Grandtully and Aberfeldy is to have surface and drainage repairs carried out.

Andrew Barrie, Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust’s strategic routes officer, said:“This grant is a great opportunity to improve paths that are affected by flooding.”

The work is to begin next month and is expected to be completed early in the NewYear.

Martin Hill, acting chairman of the Upper Tay Paths Group, said:“These improvements will make a big difference to the area as the paths provide important links between local communities and allow residents and visitors to travel between villages and enjoy the countryside.”
