Shop local in Pitlochry this festive season

-

Residents in Pitlochry are being encouraged to shop local this Christmas, with a late night shopping event.

Taking place tonight, Friday, December 7, shops across the Highland Perthshire town will keep their doors open until 7pm.

A number of businesses are taking part, including Robertsons of Pitlochry, Puddles and Sun, For Art Sake, John Muir Trust, Love Your Sweets, Coorie in the Corner, Drinkmonger, Honest Thistle, The Plaice to Be, Viva Arts and Crafts and Cafe Calluna.

Fiona Smith, owner of Puddles and Sun, said: “As an independent business, we are here to provide a service to Pitlochry and the surrounding communities, and visitors alike.

“Sourcing and supplying many brands available in some of the major stores, providing a relaxed, friendly shopping experience, without the need for long journeys and costly car parking and a more personal touch than buying from a website.”

Cllr Xander McDade, chair of Pitlochry Business Forum said: “The late night shopping allows people to take advantage of our great local retail offering after working hours and they can make a night of it by having a bite to eat after in one of our many eateries.

“The business forum is encouraging people to think about shopping locally this Christmas, as money spent in local shops will circulate around the local community.

“Local retailers support local jobs.”
