laughed at this big guy hiding behind his tail when he could flatten the opposition in the football scrum or in the deep jungle where we found him.

The strong cast was completed by the Wizard (Crawford Logan). The technical trickery of his macro projected eyeball and roaring tonsils was a striking addition.

As a festive experience this ‘Wizard of Oz’ really moved, with everybody giving a huge athletic effort, while the live musical band produced moment after moment of delightful entertainment.

Altogether a fantastic bit of imagination, reminding me of why a great show at Christmas is such a treat.

Emma Mullen is Snow White. Pic by Tommy Ga-Ken Wan many in Perthshire as she has just finished her 12th season at Pitlochry. From the opening scene her command of the stage as the‘baddy’was faultless.

She had the audience eating out of her hand with their booing while declaring:“The only thing perfect around here is me”.

This was a superb teaming, as without giving too much away there are a couple of“ooh aah, how did that happen?” expressions from the audience in reaction to some magical moments.

The directors make sure the actors and ensemble maintain their energy throughout keeping the audience engaged.

Snow White was written by award-winning writer Frances Poet. Poet’s writing was not only current describing a disaster‘but not of Brexit proportions’, it was also deep

The simple set and choreography was brought to life by the talented children’s ensemble made up of young Perth actors.

This show will take you back to your childhood with the sweetie-throwing and an audience sing-along but this show is not old fashioned. There’s no true love saving the day or a big wedding. There’s something more beautiful and real with friendship, trust and identity at its heart that a poisonous apple can’t defeat.
