Top boss award is team effort, says Saints gaffer
St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright hailed his support staff after scooping the manager of the month award for November.
Saints picked up seven points out of a possible nine, bagging a dramatic last-minute winner against Hibernian and thumping Hamilton.
A goalless draw with highflying Kilmarnock ensured that the Perth side continued a positive run of form.
And Wright was quick to praise the efforts of his staff and players.
“I’m delighted to have won the award,”Wright said. “It recognises how well we’ve been doing as a club this season.
“I always see awards like this as being for everybody involved. It’s for Alex [Cleland], Paul [Mathers] and the rest of the backroom team. And it’s also for the players because it’s them who have been performing well on the park.
“So I’d like to thank all of them because although I’m individually receiving this award it’s down to everybody’s hard work.”
Captain Joe Shaughnessy’s last-gasp header to clinch a 1-0 win against Hibs at Easter Road stood out for the Perth manager.
He added:“I thought we played brilliantly throughout and managed to grab all three points in the last minute.
“The fans love a late goal and particularly at Hibs because it’s not the first time we’ve snatched a win there.”
