Scott’s footballing journey started with Dundee United where he made appearances in the Scottish Premiership.
The 23-year-old, who then joined Forfar before spending time at Elgin City, said: “I had my studying which I was trying to focus on this year so I wanted somewhere closer to home.
“I know a lot of the lads already from around Perth and a few of my mates are here. The team has a good spirit and togetherness.
“We’ve got a very strong team and it’s one that seems to be getting better and better. That’s something you’re always striving for as a player, to see the club on the up. It’s good to be part of.
“There’s a lot of experienced boys who have played at a higher level. But it’s not like they are coming to the end of their careers. They are still of an age where they can progress further.”
Scott made his debut against Stirling University last month and is still getting used to the East of Scotland
Scott Smith spent time at Elgin City (pictured) and is now looking forward to making an impact at Swifts League set-up. But he knows the importance of this weekend’s game against second-placed Broxburn Athletic and added: “I’ve only seen the one team so it’s hard to comment on the standard.
“I’ve been told this weekend is a big game. I’ve heard a wee bit about Broxburn and that they are a good team. We should definitely be competing to win it.”
