Be part of Girlzone
A school club for girls is looking for local residents to get involved.
The Girlzone club at Pitlochry High School offers a safe space for female pupils to develop new skills and take part in a variety of experiences.
As well as trying to get more girls into STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths), the club also looks to provide fun activities and create new friendships as well.
The club takes place every Wednesday afternoon at the school from 3.30pm until 4.30pm.
Pitlochry High School’s parent council now wants to see if local businesses can get involved to offer their expertise.
A spokesperson for the parent council said:“The after school Girlzone club offers a safe space for pupils to learn new skills, develop friendships and have fun.
“The school staff currently offers pupils a wide range of activities including crafts, book discussions, baking, yoga, treasure hunts, fitness, art, STEM challenges, fire building and lots more.’’
Individuals, businesses and groups in and around the Pitlochry area can get in touch by contacting the school on 01796 474666 or by speaking to someone at the school’s front office on East Moulin Road.
