MSPbacks U3Adisplay

The work of a number of local groups, designed to give older people a chance to learn something new, has been exhibited at the Scottish Parliament.

An exhibition of the University of the Third Age (U3A) was opened at Holyrood last week.

USA is a self-help learning cooperative movement for older people who are no longer in full-time employment.

The event is being sponsored by Roseanna Cunningham, MSP for Perthshire South and Kinross-shire.

She said:“The U3A delivers its learning opportunities through local bases and we are fortunate to have two groups active in Perthshire South and Kinross-shire, one at the Letham Community Learning Centre on Rannoch Road in Perth and the other at Kinross Parish Church.

“I am delighted to be sponsoring this exhibition to give the opportunity to the U3A to come to parliament and explain directly to MSPs about the work that they do.”
