And local curler Robin Brydone got off to a winning start by defeating defending champions Team Mouat in a closely-fought battle. Speaking ahead of start-up, Team Mouat skip Bruce Mouat said: “This is going to be a really hard nationals to win. There are a number of teams who could win and go on to represent Scotland at the world championships – and represent Scotland well.” The women’s event gets underway on Tuesday (today) with Eve Muirhead favourite to take the crown. But she said:“We have targets on our backs and we have to respect every team.”
