directly.

SNP councillor Eric Drysdale has offered to raise the issue at today’s meeting of the Integration Joint Board.

Fellow SNP councillor Richard Watters for Kinrossshire said: “Schooling in Milnathort is heading towards capacity. There would also be concerns regarding construction traffic for two sites, both here and at Pace Hill.”

Following the meeting Councillor Robertson told us he had since approached the planning department.

He said: “I am very concerned about the impact on primary health care and on education. It’s quite worrying.

“A lot of houses are not occcupied. We should wait until we see what the impact is, once they are built, before building more.

“If we keep consenting these applications, the houses that were to be built by 2028 will be built by 2020.”

Councillor Robertson voiced his concerns in the Kinross Newsletter and was buoyed by support. He said: “I had a big response from that. People are getting really concerned.

“This is a great location with fantastic schools, great facilities for curling, walking, cycling but we need to keep that balance.”

Recently, consent has been given for housing at Pace Hill, Lathro, the site of Kinross High School and there has been a proposal to build over 30 houses on the site of the Windlestrae Hotel. The Pitdownie proposal could mean another 67 homes in the area.

Councillor Robertson said: “I am just asking that we take a more measured approach.

“I don’t want to get to the stage where people can’t get access to education or a doctor’s appointment. It’s just common sense.”
