Saints and local firm hook up to show people how to live the Wright Way

-

St Johnstone has teamed up with Aviva to launch a new initiative aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle in Perth.

Backed by Saints manager Tommy Wright and named‘The Wright Way’, the initiative will be piloted in two local primary schools.

Tulloch Primary School is first up on Tuesday, February 19 with Danny Griffin, club and community co-ordinator for the St Johnstone Community Trust, overseeing the delivery.

“It’s important that the club is part of the community and part of that is building relationships with local companies,”said Saints boss Wright.

“I will be involved and they are calling it ‘The Wright Way’but the players will be getting involved as well.

“In this day and age it’s so important that everybody, particularly school children, eat well and look after their wellbeing.

“It’s well documented that obesity levels have risen, not only in this country but in other parts of the world too.

“It’s a great initiative and something I’m only too pleased to be backing. We’re looking forward to going out into the schools.”

Lorraine McNamara, involved in brand and sponsorship UK corporate marketing at Aviva, is excited about this latest initiative.

She said:“This initiative is a fantastic opportunity to speak to children about healthy eating and fitness, with superb support from Saints and Tommy Wright.

“We hope the initiative will develop further and we can get the message out to other schools in the area.”

Saints announced back in October 2018 that the club was joining forces with Aviva in a three-year community partnership. St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright with Wilson Kerr, Aviva head of partnerships and Lorraine McNamara, sponsorship manager
