Carse of Gowrie footpath shut off while construction work under way

-

A footpath in the Carse of Gowrie has been closed off for four weeks.

Both sides of the Pitfour road in St Madoes are closed off to make way for construction works.

The work began on Monday, February 18, but it is expected to last four weeks, with a daytime road closure from Mondays through to Fridays.

A spokesperson for Perth and Kinross Council said:“The council plans to resurface the footways on both sides of Pitfour, St Madoes between its junction with the C484 minor road from next week.

“The works are programmed to begin on Monday, February 18 and last approximately four weeks, weather permitting.

“They will be completed under a number of road closures due to the narrow road widths and large construction vehicles.

“The works will be undertaken Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm with the road opened at weekends.

“Access for pedestrians will be maintained throughout.

“Access to properties will be maintained, however on street parking will be prohibited within each phase of the closure.

“Workers on site will be able to update residents on the areas where residents apply as the work progresses.

“Unfortunately there will be some degree of inconvenience as a result of the works, but everything possible will be done to keep disruption to a minimum.”

The spokesperson added:“On bin collection days, residents are advised to present their bin to the nearest accessible location outside of the road closures.

“Should you wish to discuss these collection arrangements, please call our waste team on 01738 476476.”
