PSJ prepared for West Ham

Saints fans in British Cup action

-

PSJ enjoyed a successful season last year and now face a British Cup game against West Ham Alloa Athletic in the last round, so this should be a great match.

“This competition has had its ups and downs for us over the past few seasons.

“We have had some memorable and dramatic victories on our travels to West Bromwich, Rochdale and Bury as well as great wins against Manchester City, Coventry and Cambridge at home.

“We lost out in a great match against Livingston GS in the semifinals last year and were beaten finalists the year before so we are looking to build on our Scottish league and cup double last year to go all the way this season.”

The on-field action is expected to be competitive but Graeme has also gone the extra mile to ensure it’s a trip to remember for West Ham.

One of PSJ’s sponsors, the Cherrybank Inn, will be laying on food and drink after the game before both teams head for St Johnstone’s Premiership fixture against Aberdeen at McDiarmid Park.

Graeme said: “Every team loves an away trip in this competition and we always look after our opponents when they travel from down south.

“West Ham are flying up to Edinburgh on Saturday morning before our game kicks off at 11.30am at Loch Leven Community Campus.

“From there, we travel to the Cherrybank Inn, who have sponsored us this season, for some food and drink before taking them to the Saints game against Aberdeen at McDiarmid Park.

“I would like to thank St Johnstone and Bev Mayer for providing tickets for the West Ham players and travelling party.”

Graeme is hoping this can still be a silverware-winning season for PSJ, despite an indifferent spell of form in the league.

“We’ve had a mixed season so far with results at home being our biggest issue,” he explained. “This has meant we will not be challenging to win our third league campaign in a row.

“But we are still involved in both the British and Scottish Cups so hopefully we can continue our recent good form into those competitions and finish the season on a high.”
