Shared Lives carers needed

-

Volunteers are needed to help a local charity looking to support communities in Perth and Kinross.

Shared Lives is looking to recruit volunteer carers to help individuals living in the area.

These carers could get involved in taking people to sporting events or concerts, or even just visiting them in their own homes for a chat.

A spokesperson for the charity said:“Richmond Fellowship Scotland is looking for people who can help service users to achieve positive outcomes.

“If you are willing to share your community contacts with those you support, this could be an amazing opportunity for you.

“Shared Lives carers are self-employed and the role is flexible to suit your needs and availability along with the support and training offered from the Shared Lives coordinator.

“Richmond Fellowship Scotland is looking for people who want to share their home and life with someone who needs a homely and loving environment.

“The organisation spends time with Shared Lives carers and gets to know them then matches them with someone that they will get along with.

“The support can range from a few hours of respite each week of if you have a spare room, sharing your family home with the person.

“You could be supporting them to go to the football, the pub, attending concerts, having days away, holidays and much more or maybe just some company and a chat over a cup of tea and cake.”
