“We are still waiting on the palace for the final numbers, but it was very busy.

“The ticket sales before Saturday were around 1500 and I think the free tickets for dogs was over 700 – but there were far more than that on the day.

“Local charity Giraffe had a doggy fun show which was really popular, PADS had an agility course, and the gundog rescue had a scurry, and there was some ‘have a go’ events for people to take part in.

“Craig Cantwell also had a dog photo studio set up and there were a number of dog charities and stalls selling doggy-related stuff.

“There has been so much positive feedback – the main thing was making sure the dogs had a good day.

“I am really, really happy because everyone on the day had a good time.”

Katie is now hoping she can stage the event again next year.

She continued: “I hope we could do it again next year.

“I am going to speak to the palace because we would like it to be an annual event – so fingers crossed something can happen again.

“It was a joint event between myself and the palace – there is no way I could have done this without the palace, they have been amazing to work alongside.

“We were able to play on each other’s strengths, because they know how to organise large events and I have a lot of doggy contacts.”
