Connect with nature by joining in relaxing yoga sessions at beauty spot

A relaxing yoga session will be held at a Perth beauty spot next month.

The Woodland Trust is hosting two yoga classes on Moncreiffe Hill on Sunday, August 25.

Yoga teacher Rachel Mitchell will lead the classes, which are suitable for all levels, in the woodland with views across the city.

There will be two classes, including a morning session from 10am until noon, and an afternoon session from 1pm until 2pm.

A spokespers­on for the Woodland Trust said:“Connect with nature in the beautiful surroundin­gs of Moncreiffe Hill through outdoor yoga sessions this summer.

“Come and join yoga teacher Rachel Mitchell at this stunning woodland with panoramic views of the Tay, Kinnoull Hill and Perth.

“Sessions are suitable for all levels from beginners to more advanced.

“Both classes will be based on Hatha Raj Yoga, a yoga of balancing opposites and the movement of energy in the body.

“The sessions will provide an opportunit­y to take time out from our busy lives to breath and move with balance in nature.

“The class will begin with a short sit to quieten your thoughts before Rachel leads you through some standing and seated poses.

“The sessions will finished will a relaxation and the longer session will include a led visualisat­ion.

“Please wear comfortabl­e clothing suitable for easy movement and bring a yoga mat and blanket.

“The session will take place regardless of the weather so please bear this in mind.

“Toilet facilities are not available at Moncreiffe Hill but Tesco on Edinburgh Road is just 10 minutes away.”

Tickets cost £25 for the morning session, or £12.50 for the afternoon session.
