being our first ever game in the Super League,” said Bleachers boss Kelly.

“We could not have got a tougher opponent to be honest, but we worked hard leading up to the game and definitely went into it with confidence in our own ability.

“I was immensely proud of every one of our players on Saturday. They gave me everything I asked for and again the big crowd were well entertained.

“The win on Saturday certainly gives us confidence in our ability and I am hoping we can kick on from this and get the start we want in this league campaign.

“To beat a team that are Super League champions and went the whole campaign without defeat, on our first ever game at this level, is a dream come true.

“But now we move on and it’s important we try build some momentum. We have a tough game away to Scone on Wednesday so must prepare well for this.”

Scone, meanwhile, opened up their North Super League adventure in disappointing fashion. They lost out 6-0 away at Carnoustie Panmure.

In the North Premier League, Blairgowrie got their campaign off to a winning start with a 3-2 victory away at Arbroath Vics.

The east Perthshire men were in fine form in the first half with goals from Cammy McManus in the eighth and 13th minute giving them the perfect start.

Kit Bremner added another on 37 minutes but the determined hosts weren’t quite done.

Late goals from Craig Tosh and Marc Walker pulled them back into the contest but ultimately it was too little too late.

“The boys were fantastic in the first half, with Cammy McManus scoring a wonder goal to put us two-nil up,” said Blair boss Mark Brash.

“We went in at half-time 3-0 but we knew the game was not over.

“Arbroath Vics came out second half all guns blazing and scored twice late in the game to make it a nervy second half.

“But the boys got over the finish line to secure the three points.”

It was also a special day for Coupar Angus at Foxhall Park who, under the guidance of new gaffer Lindsay Cruickshank, defeated Forfar Albion 1-0.
