NHS say staff will stand shoulder to shoulder

-

NHS Tayside will be supporting Perthshire Pride.

Staff from the health board will be taking part in the parade and have an information stand at the Pride village.

Dr Sarah Allstaff, consultant in sexual health at NHS Tayside, said:“NHS Tayside is committed to delivering quality, person-centred, safe and effective services to all our patients.

“We are also equally committed to being an inclusive and fair workplace for all of our staff. Please join us as allies, friends and family as we march in solidarity and stand shoulder to shoulder with the wider LGBTQ+ community in Tayside.

“You don’t have to be LGBTQ to be part of the LGBTQ community.

“Allies are an important part of the community and we want to welcome everyone who believes in equal rights for all to join us as allies at Pride.”

Santosh Chima, the health board’s head of corporate equalities, added:“NHS Tayside are committed to supporting the rights of all staff and patients and to help celebrate LGBTQ+ achievements, legal rights, social and self acceptance and pride.

“NHS Scotland works with Stonewall to increase our awareness and support to improve the treatment of LGBTQ+ staff and patients.

“NHS staff are encouraged and have opportunities to contribute both personally and professionally to LGBTQ+ inclusion within the workplace.”
