Scotland’s most iconic and celebrated fiddle band Blazin’Fiddles will join forces with a leading Scottish folk vocalist to play Pitlochry Festival Theatre on Sunday, August 18.

As part of their eight-date Scottish tour, Blazin’Fiddles will have support from special guest singer, Emily Smith.

For the past two decades, no other band has captured the excitement, passion and sensitivity of Scottish music quite like Blazin’Fiddles.

And when the band stops to play at PFT the audience will be entertained by a blend of solo and ensemble sets and the occasional insightful tale.

Fiddlers Jenna Reid, Bruce MacGregor, Rua Macmillan and Kristan Harvey will be joined by Anna Massie on guitar and fiddle and Angus Lyon on piano, each drawing distinct inspiration from their part of the Highlands and Islands to create a fiery blend of music that will entertain audiences up and down the country.

Bruce MacGregor, founder of Blazin’ Emily Smith

Fiddles, said:“Reaching our milestone 20th birthday last year was a significant moment in the band’s history and reminded us of the spark and passion for Scottish fiddle music which gave birth to Blazin’Fiddles back in 1998.

“We’re still driven by the same mission today.

“The band can’t wait to play to Pitlochry crowds this August and we’re honoured to have the talented vocalist Emily Smith for company.”

Multi award-winning singer Emily is a leading figure in the Scottish folk scene, entertaining audiences all over the world with her blend of traditional and original songs.

Emily has collaborated with many musical greats from the folk scene and beyond including Barbara Dickson, Richard Thompson, Eddi Reader and Beth Nielsen Chapman.

She said:“I can’t wait to hit the road with this iconic folk band and set Pitlochry Festival Theatre alight. Together we want to give gig-goers a musical treat.”
