Ruff stuff at PADS dog show

Perthshire dog lovers are being encourage to take part in a paw-some dog show this weekend.

A number of Perthshire pooches, including Chihuahuas Cookie (4) and her shaggy pal Chuey (2), will be competing for prizes at PADS annual ‘Scrufts’Dog Show which takes place tomorrow (August 17).

The event, organised by dog rescue charity Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society (PADS), will take place at Rollo Park, Dunning from 11am until 4pm.

The dog rescue charity has built a reputation for providing one of the most popular and enjoyable events on the canine circuit.

Attracting pedigrees like Cookie and Chuey, cross breeds and scruffy and loveable mixed breeds of unknown heritage, the show gives all dogs a chance to win many prizes.

All are welcome at the show and to take part in the contests.

PADS carer Caroline Black said: “There will be plenty of stalls, lots of competitio­ns and fun for the kids.

“It’s a terrific day out for dog-loving families and their animals.”

This year there is a special additional class to find the best rescue dog and all ex-PADS dogs are warmly invited to take part.

There are also agility classes, craft stalls, snacks galore, and Perthshire dog photograph­er Craig Cantwell will have a pop up studio for canine posers.Caroline added:“PADS key sponsor Persie Gin will also be there to PADS’Caroline Black with Chihuahuas Cookie and Chuey
