in Kinross for 30 years and moved from the High Street to the present premises in Parliament Square 20 years ago.

She employs around nine members of staff who do a range of beauty treatments and make-up sessions.

She was “overcome” by the response in the town when word got out about the break-in.

“I was so upset, finding the stock was all taken: gel polishes, Decleor products for face and body, a whole lot of Mii Cosmetics make up,” Catriona said.

“They got away with foundations, lipsticks, eye shadow having gone through my stock room and climbed out the window onto the narrow side street.

“But everybody here was amazing. The girls came in, even though some were meant to be on their day off.

“By 4pm on Wednesday we were coming close to working as normal.

“Locals offered help too - Cafe 98 brought us home baking.

“Other businesses offered to give us products so we could keep our appointments despite having lost out own stock. The local joiner was straight over.

“The staff at the butchers next door were very kind - the guys at Hunters of Kinross had a break-in themselves not so long ago.

“We got given flowers, coffee, support and encouragement. Amazing kindness, I feel so lucky. It just shows what a tight-knit community this is.”

Police Scotland has been reviewing CCTV and is asking for information about this crime.

Members of the public are reminded to report any instances of the Decleor brand products and Mii Cosmetics being offered for sale in suspicious circumstances.
