Kicked door at estranged wife’s

-

A former Scone man turned up at his estranged wife’s home and started banging and kicking the door, demanding to be let in.

Forty-four-year-old Kristopher Cruden wanted to check her bedroom to see if there was anyone else there, Perth Sheriff Court was told.

To avoid a“confrontation,”his wife allowed him access but he was described as“very angry”and she was scared to leave her room.

The accused then left the flat but was shouting and swearing in the street and he branded another female a“slag and a slut.”

The police were alerted and due to his“aggressive demeanour,”he was handcuffed and put in a police vehicle, depute fiscal Bill Kermode explained.

The incident led to Cruden, formerly of Abbey Road, being handed down a community payback order when he appeared for sentence.

He will have to complete 120 hours of unpaid work within six months.

He admitted that on February 18, 2019, he went to Abbey Road and Poppy Court, Scone, uninvited, demanded entry and shouted and swore in an aggressive manner towards Lynn Cruden.

He also acted aggressively and made offensive remarks towards Michelle Hutchison and challenged Christopher Hutchison to fight. Cruden was subject to an October 5, 2018, bail order from the Perth court at the time.

Mr Kermode said the accused had lived at the address in Abbey Road until October last year.

A witness was returning home from walking her dog when she heard the accused shout:“Open the f***ing door - let me in.”He later hurled abuse at Michelle Hutchison and challenged Christopher Hutchison to a fight.

Solicitor Cliff Culley said the accused, who was now staying with his parents in Johnstone, had separated from his wife last year.“He accepts responsibility for what happened,” added the lawyer.“Unpaid work would be a reminder to him not to behave in this way.”
