Newsreader Jon is the star of John Muir Trust short film

-

Veteran TV journalist Jon Snow is the star of a new short film produced by Pitlochrybased nature charity the John Muir Trust.

The film, part of a trilogy produced by the trust, opens with a shot of Jon as he is about to go on air to present Channel 4 News before shifting to a lush woodland setting where he assumes the role of a reporter searching for solutions to the growing threat of climate change.

Known for his trademark multi-coloured ties and socks, as well as for his incisive interrogations of some of most powerful people on the planet, Jon has also had a lifelong passion for nature and woodlands.

He recently joined the John Muir Trust and gave up his time voluntarily to work on ‘The Wild In Me: Jon Snow’with filmmakers Ulrika Larsson and Lukasz Warzecha.

He said:“The threat of climate change is absolutely massive and we may even have passed the tipping point. But I also believe we have the capacity to battle it and to win.

“But it will take a commitment of every living human to put their shoulder to the cause and to plant, to pick, to treasure and to grow tree upon tree.”

Kevin Lelland of the John Muir Trust said: “Jon Snow is one of the most respected journalists in the world who tackles with courage and integrity some of the biggest issues of our times.

“In this short, powerful film he takes on one of the greatest challenges that humanity has ever faced and points to a way forward. We are privileged to have him as a member of the John Muir Trust and grateful to him for helping us deliver such an important message.”
