The Perthshire Chamber of Commerce Golf Day, supported by Carbon Financial Partners, again proved to be a massive hit.

Golfers snapped up places in record time to support the annual event which was this year held at Pitlochry Golf Club.

Teeing-off after a hot roll, tea and coffee, players enjoyed a terrific afternoon of golf with great course conditions.

Players competed for winning team, winning individual, orange ball, nearest the pin and longest drive trophies and prizes.

Mark Christie, corporate director of Carbon Financial Partners, said: “The course was in excellent condition and the staff at Pitlochry Golf Club couldn’t have been more hospitable and welcoming.

“The event was again well supported by the local business community and everyone had a fantastic day. The event also received valuable support for the Barrie Douglas Foundation.”

The winning team, comprising Thorntons and the Perthshire Advertiser, were Colin Dolby, Graham Lambert, Douglas Dickie and Stevie McGraw.

The individual winner was Adrian Freer of the Perth College UHI team, who was also part of the orange ball competition winners alongside Gareth McKenna, Winston Flynn and Andy Ritchie.

Nearest the pin at the 16th hole was won by Stuart Wallace from the Carbon Financial Partners team and the longest drive at the 12th hole went to Derek Hughes from the Graham & Sibbald team.

“Special thanks also go to Gordon Butt and Alan Chappell of Hardies for all their help with the teams, cards and scoring,” added Chamber chief executive Vicki Unite.

“Gordon has been helping in this role for well over a decade and his valuable assistance contributes to the smooth running of the day.”
