Week-long works have started on a827
Roadworks which are expected to last a week began in Highland Perthshire yesterday.
Drainage and preparation works were due to begin on Monday, September 16 on the a827 between eastertyre and Wester logierait.
During the works there will be temporary traffic lights, a convoy system and a 10mph speed limit.
a spokesperson for Perth and Kinross Council said: “We will be undertaking roadworks on the a827 eastertyre to Wester logierait, starting from Monday, September 16.
“Drainage and preparation works are scheduled to start on Monday and expected to take one week to complete.
“The works will take place Monday to Friday, from 7.30am and 4.30pm under temporary traffic lights, with convoy vehicles operating a 10mph speed limit. However, due to the nature of the works, the temporary traffic signals may remain in place at nights and over the weekend, if required.”
These works are to make way for road resurfacing works next week.
The spokesperson continued:“The road resurfacing works are scheduled to start on Monday, September 16 and are expected to take one week to complete.
“These works will be carried out at night under a full road closure between the hours of 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday. The official diversion route will be via the a827 to Ballinluig, a9 to a822, a826 to aberfeldy, then back onto the a827, and vice versa for the opposite direction. Vehicle access to properties within the closure area will be maintained when the works allow and is safe to do so. emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times. We would apologise for any inconvenience arising while the works are ongoing, but every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum.”
